Dr Dimple Shastry completed her undergraduate medical training (MBChB) at the University of Pretoria. She obtained her postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa and her Master of Medicine (MMed) in Ophthalmology in 2021.

She is a general ophthalmologist with a special interest in medical retina, cornea pathology and paediatric ophthalmology.
Dr Shastry joined VisuSense Ophthalmologists in 2022 and enjoys co-managing her patients with optometrists, GP’s and specialist colleagues in interrelated fields to ensure her patients receive current best practice and care.
Dr Shastry has always been passionate about making healthcare services accessible to her local community and increasing awareness around vision-threatening eye conditions.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling, ceramic painting and exploring the great outdoors.
